Note and our recommendation
Bikes are often designed so that – when an engine protection bar is installed – the foot peg and the bar touch down nearly simultaneously at a lean angle that is generally uncritical in terms of tyre grip. It is important to be aware that various influencing factors, such as the bike’s load or when riding through dips or potholes, may reduce the possible lean angle.

This GUARD engine protection bar offers the perfect balance between maximum protection and minimal weight

The design of the GUARD engine protection bar prioritises maximum protective effect and lean angle clearance.

It reliably protects the cylinders and valve covers. The all-round protection concept increases passive safety and contributes to the overall enjoyment of riding. In the event of a fall or tip-over, the forces are optimally distributed across the structure to the load-bearing mounting points, avoiding force and torque peaks and effectively reducing material stress.

The structure is made from 25 mm precision steel tubing. The segments are shaped on CNC tube bending machines and then cleanly welded. Visually, the protection bar integrates seamlessly into the motorcycle’s design and complements its distinctive appearance. Unlike the original BMW engine guard, it is compatible with both the standard and optional carbon cylinder protectors. It also fits in combination with the original BMW cylinder head cover protector and the original Option 719 milled ignition coil cover. Our GUARD engine protection bar is designed to be maintenance-friendly: the oil drain plug and filter cartridge are fully accessible without removing the bar.
