Rough’n’tough – the functional integral design of the Wunderlich Engine Protection ULTIMATE

This ULTIMATE engine protection is also designed in the authentic Tool Design style. Its functional design and structural integration protect the engine housing, oil sump and headers with balance pipe. The three-part construction fits so closely around the engine unit that not only the frontal exposure is optimised, but also ground and lean angle clearance remain virtually unchanged. The shape of the guard reduces the risk of snagging or hooking on obstacles such as branches, rocks or debris when riding off-road. Openings ensure that water taken in during river crossings can drain freely.

The angled deflector plates divert stones or foreign objects kicked up by the front wheel in such a way that the risk of damage to the headers and engine is significantly reduced. Another advantage of this engine protection: it deflects the surge of spray water downward, helping to considerably reduce thermal stress on the engine housing, headers and seals – especially when the engine is hot.

The complex component shape and geometry are the result of optimising material thickness and weight, while ensuring high structural rigidity and mechanical stability. The outcome is a robust, weight-optimised and form-optimised engine protector that fits closely and organically around the engine, making the “form follows function” design principle clearly evident. The recessed fittings provide no exposed edges and further enhance the Adventure look.

This high-quality engine protection is securely mounted at four existing connection points on the motorcycle.
